Mike Ormesher takes the Technical Chair position at the UK SIPS Association
Unidek's own General Manager Mike Ormesher has taken on the role of Chairman at the recently formed UK SIPS Association Technical Committee.
The body brings together all the major players from the sector and aims to provide a mouthpiece to advance understanding and take up of SIPS within UK construction.
One of the Associations first priorities is not only to establish guidelines to help designers and architects understand the benefit that SIPS provide to a project and how to specify them, but to introduce a Code of practice to ensure the UK has a robust method to design SIPS to maximise the full power of this ground breaking technology.
"SIPS, as a Modern Method of Construction are accepted as offering the UK building industry the best solution, to dealing with the challenges of improving performance and productivity at the same time as addressing the underlying skills shortage" says Mike.
"SIPS not only tick all the boxes in terms of speed and optimized physical benefits, but actually represent a proven and reliable technology.
"And as a founding member of the UK SIPS Association, Unidek is committed to furthering both the uptake and the development of what is still an emerging force in the marketplace. We’re supporting the development of best practice and an authoritative design code."
The UK SIPS Association www.uksips.org is seeking to help consultants, contractors and other construction professionals fully understand the remarkable capabilities of SIPS.
